- Woods, Macdara
- (1942- )Born in Dublin, he is married to Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin, a member of Aosdána, and lives mostly in Dublin or in Umbria, Italy. He, his wife, Leland Bardwell and Pearse Hutchinson (see entries), are founding editors of the literary review Cyphers. He has translated from a number of languages and edited The Kilkenny Anthology (1991). He frequently works with musicians and has written a number of songs. In 2003 he completed The Cello Suites to accompany a performance of the six Bach cello suites on double bass by American musician Richard Hartshorne, most recently performed in St. Bartholomew's Cathedral, New York, 2004. Two books of his poems have been published in Italian, Biglietto di Sola Andata (1998) and Con Pesaro ai Miei Piedi (1999), which included an audio CD with readings by the author and music by the Italian group Militia.
